Considering a cosmetic procedure: a decision guide
A list of procedures is not enough to decide. Consider your expectations, health and aftercare when reviewing options.

The decision should reflect your needs
Cosmetic procedures aim to change appearance, not guarantee improvements in relationships, work or confidence. Consider what you want for yourself and alternatives without a procedure. Pressure from others or a limited-time offer should not rush your decision.
Surgical and non-surgical options both need assessment
Surgery and injections involve different preparation and risks. Non-surgical does not mean risk-free. Review medical history, medicines and previous procedures before choosing a method. Do not assume every option discussed in this guide is available at Nev.
A checklist before deciding
- Meet the treating clinician and ask about training, experience and your suitability.
- Discuss expected changes, limitations, scars and complications.
- Clarify costs including follow-up or further procedures, who provides aftercare and a contact number.
Recovery and expectations
Pain, swelling and recovery vary by procedure; minimal pain or scar-free results cannot be promised to everyone. You need not decide immediately. If receiving mental health treatment, consult that team too and request follow-up for concerns afterwards.
Safety after a procedure
Report severe or unexpected symptoms promptly. Vision changes, unusual pain or sudden skin-colour changes after filler require emergency assessment. Call 112 for severe breathlessness, chest pain or collapse, and tell the team about the procedure.
